Your Input Requested

DFW Chapter President

I'm calling on all ASBPE members as well as potential members for your feedback. At a very productive meeting of the ASBPE national board, we discussed how the economy has impacted everything - including our membership numbers.

And, it made us want to re-evaluate what we offer our members. So, I'm turning the microphone over to you. What services would you like to see ASBPE offer its members? What things are most valuable to you? Is it more webinars? More local chapter meetings? What do you want out of ASBPE membership? Please let us know. You can add your feedback to the comments here.

Hey Tonie--It's Sarah. I know for the DFW ASBPE chapter it's really hard to get together. We're so spread out. I wish there was a way we could reach out virtually. Perhaps through a LinkedIn group? The webinars are great. I'll take just about any learning opportunity that doesn't require a lot of time, money or travel. However, we need to make sure the webinars aren't some long, rambling story relating "this is how we did this." Sorry to sound trite, but figure out the main "take homes" before you get started and make sure your comments directly apply to those tips. Anyway, I'd gladly brainstorm some more, if needed.

If membership numbers are on the wane, my guess is conference attendance is, too. I'd like to see the board resolve to provide video/remote access to future conferences.

My strong hunch is members would be willing to pay a reasonable fee for access -- I know I would! This one move alone not only is doable, it very likely would significantly increase benefit to members and spur membership.

This is a benefit ASBPE could market quite effectively. You all do far too good a job of attracting the best presenters who speak to the most relevant and timely topics to NOT increase meeting access. Unless I'm missing something, I simply don't see a down side.

Thanks for the microphone, Tonie!
